Besides offering the highest construction and upholstery standards in Canada, many interior designers prefer to work with us because ALL of our manufacturing (building, springing, upholstery and tailoring) is done in our local workshop located in Vancouver BC. This allows designers to be much more involved in the creation of their pieces and to know that it was built with the utmost care and attention.
Frames
All frames are built with kiln-dried hardwood. Integral joints are typically biscuit-joined, screwed, glued and corner blocked. All exposed wood can be custom finished to designer specification.
Suspension
We use traditional, eight-way, hand-tied, coil on web suspension. This is the best and highest quality suspension available. No-sag suspension is also available if budget is a concern.
Cushioning
Foam - Used as our standard fill. For seats we use high-resilient, high-density polyurethane foam that is double-wrapped with super-soft, high quality foam then encased in its own non-allergenic cotton cover. The same treatment is also used for loose-back cushion designs. For tight-back upholstery we use high-resilient, super soft foam that is wrapped in a layer of bonded polyester for added comfort and durability. All foam cushioning is guaranteed for 20 years.
Down - The ultimate in comfort and durability. With proper care, down cushioning holds its comfort and shape a very long time. Although the price is typically more than foam we highly recommend down cushioning over foam for extra added comfort when possible. All of our down cushioning is guaranteed for 20 years.
Detailing
We put a great deal of time, care and pride into the tailoring of our furniture. Whether it is a sofa from one of our existing designs, an interior designer's specific vision or a replica of grandfather's vintage armchair you will always be happy with the quality and thought we put into every detail of finishing your piece to perfection.
Fabrics
Designer's choice. Fabrics can be supplied by the client or selected from our sample library, featuring a wide range of selections from the world's leading mills. The sample library is available in our showroom located here.
